A 13-member Chinese delegation led by BETTEX Chairman Frank Yi visited Shishu Polli Plus (SPP)—widely known as the Child Village—to spend time with underprivileged children and learn more about the organization’s impactful community support model. The visit highlighted the delegation’s commitment to social responsibility and cross-cultural goodwill during their trip to Bangladesh.

Shishu Polli Plus is a renowned Bangladeshi non-profit organization dedicated to supporting vulnerable single mothers and their children. Through a holistic village-based model, SPP provides safe shelter, nutritious meals, healthcare, free schooling, and skill-development training. The initiative focuses on empowering women through literacy, handicrafts, and income-generating activities, helping families rebuild their lives with dignity and stability.

During the visit, Chairman Frank Yi and the delegation engaged with children in a series of heartwarming activities—painting together, listening to songs, and enjoying poetry performances. The interactions created a joyful, lively atmosphere and offered the delegates a meaningful glimpse into the lives of the children supported by SPP.

The delegation later visited the SPP meeting hall, where they participated in a video conference with Ms. Pat Kerr, Founder of Shishu Polli Plus, who has been working in Bangladesh since the late 1980s. Ms. Kerr shared insights into the organization’s diverse programs, technical training initiatives for village women, and ongoing efforts to integrate women into national economic activities. She also discussed future expansion plans aimed at strengthening SPP’s long-term impact.

Chairman Frank Yi expressed strong interest in visiting SPP’s main campus in Tengra, Sreepur, Gazipur to explore opportunities for collaboration, support, and sustainable community development. As a gesture of solidarity, the delegation purchased handcrafted products made by women trained at Shishu Polli Plus—directly supporting their path toward financial independence.

At the conclusion of the visit, Chairman Yi reaffirmed his commitment to continuing support for Shishu Polli Plus and emphasized his intention to visit the Gazipur campus in the near future. The visit marked an important step toward building long-term social impact partnerships in Bangladesh.
